Taylor Swift - Love Story
Posted on September 23, 2008 with

Taylor Swift’s music seems to become more popular by the day and was by far the highest selling country album this year as she has stayed at the top of the chart almost two years after her debut album was released. This is something that very few accomplish in the country genre. One of the largest reasons she has done this is because of her younger fan base but with her new single “Love Story” she might just alienate her older country fan base that will support her for years to come.
If I were a reviewer from a Disney or teen publication I may give it a different rating because after all the song isn’t terrible in quality but it isn’t for a country music fan, and of course that’s our forte. The songs lyrics go very off course at times changing from modern day to lines about “Romeo & Juliet” which do not connect well. I guess you could say this song is a stretch for the country genre but will connect better with the young fan base she seems to be pursuing. The song is the first single from her second studio album entitled Fearless which will be available in early November.

I agree if Taylor Swift is country then so is all of the Disney singers and the Jonas Brothers!! I dont like this “Love Story” or any of her other songs–they are all for tweens and should be played on pop radio where they dont care if the singer can sing or not!! Taylor has to write her own songs because she has to be able to half sing half talk and half scrrech through them and without the aid of computer technology and voice enhancements her album would show that she cannot sing but yet she gets more airplay than any other country music female out there!! Someone said that her daddy has money and has bought the air time–makes sense to me!! If you think she can sing listen to her singing “Silent Night” on youtube to the guitar and believe me she ruined “Silent Night” for me forever!!! Also she sang the national anthem to the guitar and ruined that too!! Im not just saying this to be mean but there are better female country artists out there that can sing that do not get the attention or the airplay as she does and it all started after she went on the road with the Jonas Brothers and word came out they were dating?????
