Rissi Palmer - No Air

The first time hearing about this song I was very interested to hear a country cover of the Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown hit “No Air“. This cover of “No Air” is the newest single from Rissi Palmer who also saw success with her first single “Country Girl” and her self entitled album that was released in late 2007.
Palmer’s new single is of course a cover song of an R&B hit but to be honest the cover of “No Air” feels too much like the original and not enough like a country version. The song by no means is terrible but to those who are fans of the original will notice that the song feels more forced then the original and sounds close to the same with the addition of a few steel guitars. Again the song is by no means bad it just fails to adapt to sound country or sound different enough from the original to catch anyone’s attention as a single.

i didn’t like this song at all either. Like you said had nothing diffrent on it then the original with chris brown. It just sounded like an acoustic version of the song. She could have waited 2-3 years down the line and released this and it may have worked somewhat but i dont see this going anywhere
I like Rissi and her past songs but this one I just didnt get on why they released it right now. I could see someone like Taylor Swift pulling this off in a country way but she is one of a kind and can do those type of things.
