Jamey Johnson - In Color

Jamey Johnson - In Color

Every once in awhile a song catches your ear that you know will be a very popular song and this is definitely one of those songs. “In Color” is the newest song from Jamey Johnson, the Alabama native who is responsible for writing such hits as “Give It Away” by George Strait and “Got My Game On” by Trace Adkins. The single is a gritty blues style song that is a welcome addition to any radio stations playlist that seems to be dominated by mostly pop influenced country music.

The song starts off with Jamey Johnson speaking with his grandpa after seeing a picture. The song goes on to take the first person perspective of his grandpa in which he tells important portions of his life showing black and white photos. The song is very well written and paints a perfect picture of what he is singing about. The grandpa goes on to tell a story about each picture and says “You should have seen it in color” saying that the photos are so much more than just photos. Overall it is a very impressive song that will be the first of many songs that will make Jamey a famous artist aside from his already impressive writing resume. Look for “In Color” to be a song that will be around for years to come due to its overall appeal and longevity.

  1. I love this song and love the video even more. It is about time we get a great gritty country singer back in the limelight. He reminds me so much of the greats from my younger years such as Cash and Haggard.

  2. I checked out the song on his myspace page and i cant stop listening to it. I bet i have listened to it 30 times now without stopping. I always seem to agree with your reviews and now am going to check here before buying songs because of 30 second clips on itunes.
