Rucker Stays On Top

For two weeks in a row former Hootie and the Blowfish front man Darius Rucker has claimed the charts with his album Learn to Live, which has topped both of the Billboard country charts. His debut country album has been met by very positive reviews and even more positive sales numbers. The lead single from the album “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” also tops the Billboard charts for top country single.

Chesney Leads CMA Nominations with Seven

Kenny Chesney continues furthering his status as a country music legend with leading in nominations at the 2008 CMA awards. Chesney lead nominees with seven being closely followed by Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles with six. Rascall Flats also received a nomination for vocal group of the year which they have won for five years in a row. CMT: Music City Madness

CMT.com and Comcast have partnered to bring live local auditions throughout the month August to the cities of Nashville, Knoxville, Pittsburgh and Atlanta as the network searches for the next breakout country music act in the third annual MUSIC CITY MADNESS. Undiscovered singer/songwriters will have a chance to video tape an original song and submit it to CMT.com’s national on-line competition.
