Brad Paisley - I’m Still A Guy
If you could name someone the modern day king of gimmick and comedy influenced songs that would have to be none other then Brad Paisley. The long list of songs such as “Online” and “Ticks” just to name a few are songs that could more then likely not be pulled off successfully by any artist other then Paisley. In his newest single “I’m Still A Guy” he compares and contrasts the differences between what guys see with what girls see. Many examples he gives are very on point to what guys see different then women such as “When you see a lake you think picnics and I see a large-mouth up under that log”.
Brad Paisley has time after time released traditional sounding country music and been successful at it and has not strayed into the country/pop genre which he could have easily done, this alone is a feat in itself. The complaint that I hear from many fans of country music is that Brad Paisley has the corniest singles and songs on his albums out of anyone who is a major artist on the country music scene, this new single will do nothing to change that because even tho it is good it does come across somewhat corny at times. Overall I think we should chalk up another successful song for Paisley, with a song that may not be a crossover type of hit or what most people would think of as a radio smash it will still move up the charts quickly and be heard throughout the summer on his seemingly non-stop tour.
